Hard water spotting from sprinklers lands on the outside of the glass. Removing it is part of the job, not an extra, because glass will not come properly clean with mineral buildup still on it.

Why I recommend both
the first time.
When only the outside gets cleaned, the dirt on the inside of the glass still shows, and the window still looks dirty. Most people notice it the first time the afternoon sun hits it.
The screens and tracks are part of it too. Most screens come off from the inside, and the window has to be opened to clean out the tracks. So unless the tracks have already had a deep clean, an outside only visit leaves the dirtiest part of the window where it was.
Since the outside is already about 70 percent of the price, adding the inside is not that much more. And honestly, the inside is my favorite part. I spent my first year and a half in window cleaning as the interior specialist, so I know a bunch of tricks that make the inside of a house feel so much better.
