The big glass end of the city. Houses built into slopes with stairwell windows running three floors, and full height panes where the architect clearly never thought about who would clean them. Hillside lots also mean the ground you would normally set up on is often a drop, so the reach has to come from wherever is actually level.
A lot of older houses being brought back, which means a steady supply of glass that has just had trades all over it. Fresh paint, caulk and sealant on the panes, and frequently new units sitting next to hundred year old ones in the same elevation. The two do not get cleaned the same way.
Much the same pattern, older housing stock getting redone, plus a density problem. Buildings sit close together and there is rarely a clean line of sight to an upper pane from any piece of ground you are allowed to stand on.
The tall skinny builds going up south of the river, sold as condos, three and four floors on a small footprint. Not much square footage but a great deal of height, so the top glass sits forty to fifty feet up with almost no ground around the building to work from. These look like small jobs on paper and are not.

One luxury condominium I work reads as fifty feet from the street and about sixty from the low side below the parking structure, because the ground leaves and the building does not. Quoting that from the front elevation gets it wrong. The reach that matters is always measured from wherever you can actually stand.
Central Austin is full of glass that does not behave like a normal window. Units that fold open on a hinge, tilt inward off the top, or lift out of the frame entirely. Each one has a right way to open it and a way that damages the mechanism, and on a lot of downtown jobs taking the window apart is the only route to the outside face of the glass.

Yes, though most of my Austin work is central and west rather than the far suburbs. West Austin, around Mopac and 45th, West Campus, downtown and the tall townhomes south of the river are where I am most often. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call and I will tell you straight away.
